| Veterans Day Parade, Chillicothe, Ohio Write up from Maggie Herlensky: Well, Bud and I survived his first parade. The only problem was the wide stripe at the stop sign that he refused to cross. He calmly sidepassed to the end of it, walked around it, and went back to his place in line. We had seven riders performing with us: Me, Hannah Perkins, Rebecca Woods, Mary Jo Wisecup, Candy Carlson, and Sue and Vicky Henkel. We wore dark aprons, patriotic vests, and black helmets. The horses all had red, silver, and blue bows in manes and tails and their hooves were all glittered. There wasn't a huge crowd, but I do think it was bigger than the years
that the parade was downtown. The inpatients really seemed to enjoy it. Some
of those older guys never leave the ward except for doctor's appointments.
One of the units had all of their patients in wheelchairs, wrapped in
blankets, and covered in garbage bags to protect them from the rain, lined
up outside their building, |
